Home in Apalachin
Challenge
The basement in this home was half finished. There is a wall dividing the two sides and the homeowner complained of water seeping through that wall into the finished side. The water was seeping through because the wall is at the lowest point of the basement. We needed to waterproof this basement and also insulate it to make the home more comfortable and energy efficient.
Solution
Our solution to this problem was to first install a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System provides three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over. In case of a power outage, our UltraSump battery backup sump pump, set at the highest level, will pump 11,500 gallons or more on a fully charged battery! In order to properly pump the water out a perimeter drainage system was needed. Our crews dug out the perimeter installed the piping and sealed it back with gravel and concrete. To top it all off we spray foamed the foundation walls sealing off the basement.
