Insulation Services Photo Album: Johnson City, NY Roof Access in a Cape Cod
This project turned in to a much larger one than expected. We followed all of the procedure put in place to correctly diagnose the problems within this house. Unfortunately, you can never fully tell what is going on within a wall cavity until you open it up to do the work. Our production team came across some logistic problems with insulating the house from the inside so we made the decision to insulate the home from the outside. This meant removing shingles and all other roofing materials to gain access to the peak of the roof so that we could dense pack the entire roof essentially. In the end everything was put back exactly as it was and you could never tell that we were there. Except, the homeowners will be able to tell by their eergy bills being lowered and being much more comfortable all year round.
Opening the Roof
This is not the approach that we normally go for but with this house's unique properties we decided going in from the outside was the best method.
Preparing for Dense Packing
We drilled the usual holes for our dense packing method with the TruSoft Insulation.
Cavity is Full
We pack the cavities so tight all the way up to the peak of the roof.
Putting the roof back together
Now it's the easy part of putting the shielding and shingles back on.
One Step Closer
Almost done!
Finally!
Back to the original state. Almost as if we were never there.
