Dealing with code enforcement and other local agencies that have been put in place for the general public's well being can sometimes be difficult for homeowners. We hope to ease that process a little bit by providing a product that is very code friendly, that product being our closed cell spray foam insulation. The spray foam that we use does a great job at insulating your home efficiently and effectively. This new construction project in Endicott, NY was rather simple and in the end it was easy to get it approved by code enforcement. The homeowner was very happy with the end results and can now enjoy an entirely spray foamed home.
Most homes in the area do not have an insulated rim joist. It is mostly an oversight by contractors that don't think it means much in the overall grand picture, but indeed it does. This small space between your basement walls and ceiling can be the source of large amounts of air leakage. This open gap is essentially the same as leaving a few windows open year round. In the summer it's letting hot air get into your home and in the winter it's letting cool air into your home. This is not something that anyone wants to deal with or pay for the consequences it creates. The best bet is to get it insulated as soon as possible. Spray foam insulation will completely fill in that area and air seal it so that there is no longer any air leaking in or out of the rim joist.
Sometimes the rooms added to our homes after the original structure was built can be the coldest rooms in the house due to lack of insulation. Fiberglass batts do not keep the warm or cool air inside because it doesn't have the capability to close all the gaps in the walls. Our closed cell spray foam has the ability to close all the small gaps where air can leak in and/or out of the house - taking the air that you pay to heat and cool with it.
There is CleanSpace, Drainage Matting, and TerraBlock all laid down and then finally sealed to the crawlspace walls with spray foam insulation. This method completely protects against air leakage and will help the homeowners be more comfortable in their home.
Basements and attics are generally the most problematic in a home for making homeowners feel uncomfortable. For this hired job, the homeowners were having enormous difficulties keeping their home at an even, comfortable temperature due to the basement. The stone covered concrete walls had a lot of holes and gaps to allow hot and cold air leak into the home. By using our Closed Cell Spray Foam, the home became more energy efficient just by insulating the walls, leaving these homeowners very happy with their lower energy bills.
