The insulation in the attic of this home in Endicott, NY was old and ineffective.

The old insulation was removed and the attic was air sealed.  We then did an open blow of 14 inches of cellulose insulation.  The attic is now well insulated and the home as a whole is more comfortable.

Seen here is a side attic.  We sprayed 4 inches of closed cell foam here.  The gable ends were sprayed with 2 inches of foam.  Along with the rest of the project, this has contributed to the home being more comfortable and energy efficient.

Shown here is the rim joist.  As part of a larger project, the old fiberglass insulation was removed.  The rim joist was then sprayed with 2 inches of closed cell foam.  It's now well insulated and, along with other aspects of the project, will contribute to making the home more comfortable.
