This home had no insulation in the exterior walls so Foam It Insulation proposed to remove the siding and fill the cavities with TruSoft Insulation to make the home more comfortable all year round.

The rim joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the house. The joints and gaps between all the framing members allow for a lot of air leakage into the house. The rim joist is seldom insulated and never air sealed. Basement ceiling insulation, especially fiberglass batts, don't stop the flow of air, cold in the winter and hot in the summer, into your home. We suggest that two part expanding spray foam (also known as closed cell spray foam) be installed on the rim joist and over the sill plate to seal all air leaks from the outside and insulate this important area of your home. Foam It Insulation's spray foam has a high insulation value per inch of R7, and because it expands, it seals all cracks and gaps and joints where air from the outside enters your home.

Crawlspaces can be nasty, dirty and damp. This one was all of those and then some. We proposed to totally encapsulate the whole crawlspace system under the house so that the conditioned area of the home would be much more comfortable and the air they are breathing is much safer.
