This crawl space in Johnson City, NY was underinsulated, making the homeowners frozen in the winter time due to drafts and cold floors. By insulating the basement walls, air won't be able to leak inside through the walls from the outdoors like it had been.
After air sealing the rim joists, we sprayed our Closed Cell Spray Foam on the walls of the foundation. This will create a nice layer of insulation for the homeowners and leaving their home more energy efficient which leads to lower heating and cooling bills.
This Johnson City, NY homeowner wanted to do some work on their home, including their attic and crawl space. In the crawlspace, we decided to do an encapsulation. We installed our drainage mat and TerraBlock before laying down our Poly which gives a nice clean space that the homeowners could walk on and not have to worry. We also spray 2 inches of our closed cell spray foam to the walls to fully seal the encapsulation.
This Johnson City, NY homeowner was severely lacking insulation throughout the entire home, leaving the home vulnerable to the temperatures outside. Upon our assessment, we proposed to do several things to the home to make it more comfortable and more energy-efficient mostly to the attic spaces. There was some sporadic fiberglass batts that had not been installed correctly, so the current insulation was not very productive at keeping the homeowners warm during the cold months and cool during the hot months.
First, we air sealed the attic space by spray foaming the rim joists, top plates and around any light fixtures. We then did an open blow of 12 inches of our TruSoft cellulose insulation into the attic flat. This gives a great R-value in the home, and our TruSoft cellulose is a natural pest deterrent so mice and other pests will not steal or nest in our TruSoft.
This homeowner noticed a significant difference in the home right away, and was very pleased with our results!
This Johnson City, NY homeowner called us for a Home Comfort Evaluation to see what may be done to his home for insulation, as he guessed that the entire first floor of his home had no insulation in the walls. Our assessment showed that the homeowner was correct. We proposed to dense pack the walls with our TruSoft cellulose and insulate the attic space as well.
We dense-packed the walls of the first and second floors of this home from having holes drilled outside the home a few inches apart. Once the walls were dense-packed with our TruSoft cellulose insulation, we plugged the holes. Due to the stucco walls on the first floor, the homeowner stated he will address them himself by painting over them. The second floor had vinyl siding which was carefully removed, holes drilled and once the insulation was packed in, we plugged the holes and replaced the vinyl siding so you'd never know we'd even been there.
